I think I love you!

I love Las Vegas. I would love to spend the rest of my life here. Yes, I love the stifling summers and the 50 degree winters. LOVE IT! I was fortunate enough to spend Thursday through Saturday in this city which I so much care for. The drive typically takes me about 4 and a half hours or so. Yes, I speed. I just cant wait to see the city come into view as I pull around the mountain. Once again; love it!

Thanks to the wonderful store manager of the Nordstrom in Las Vegas, I had the opportunity to meet up with a few personal customers and do a little personal shopping with them. I couldn't believe how fulfilling I felt as I helped these wonderful ladies, one by one, put together their Spring wardrobes. I have such a passion for helping women dress and I believe it may be my calling! As I reflect back on the two years that I spent in TBD at the Nordstrom at the Fashion Show Mall, I cant help but miss all of my personal customers and the opportunity I had to constantly be around fashion. The current manager of TBD, who was my manager when I worked there, taught me so much and I will forever be grateful to her for everything she passed on to me!

Nothing like coming home to this stud muffin! Everyday I look forward to him getting home so that we can spend time together! I am honestly so grateful to such a wonderful and hard working husband! He is so smart and determined and I have no doubt that we will be together forever! Lucky me!!!

Yeah..I think he loves me.. as more than a friend!

I know my husband all too well. As I get ready for bed, he typically goes and watches training DVDs. About 10-15 mins later, I will stop whatever I am doing and listen. Then I proceed to go and check on my husband to make sure he is still alive because I dont hear a peep and this is how I find him. Pooped!

Word?!?

Only in Las Vegas will you find this book in the "Self-Improvement" Section along with Think and Grow Rich, The Secret, etc. Right next to "Courage to be YOURSELF" lounges Tila Tequila. Once again...WORD?

Oh Red Mango -

Red Mango. Two words. So simple. So delicious. Brings two people together like no other dessert place! I have to admit, I literally have nightly cravings for this little cup of deliciousness. And my sweet sweet husband...how he goes along with it even though he isn't a huge fan.

I have never had a problem sharing food with my husband. I usually want him to eat off my plate! However.... as soon as Red Mango came into my life, my food-sharing perspective changed quite drastically. Mark my words.. I will have a Red Mango machine in our house one day. I know what you are thinking... dessert = jiggly butt and unflattering figure but oh how wrong you are! This dessert is actually good for you. It's frozen yogurt for crying out loud! And I think I'm in love!

This is the cup of deliciousness I was referring to earlier. You need to do yourself a favor by going here...TONIGHT! Forget the Jamba and the Cold Stone and whatever else. It is Red Mango time baby and this stuff will change your life.

Matt and I drove to Salina on Sunday morning for my cousins Homecoming! He served in the Philippines and developed such a strong love for the people there. After the luncheon, that proceeded Josh's Homecoming, Matt and I took a longer route back home so we could stop at Manti and take some pictures in front of the temple that we were married in two and a half year ago! So fun!
We have a picture just like this of Matt carrying me out of the temple on our wedding day.

Seriously...so blessed! haha

Moms and their Vans

I used to not think anything much of a mom in a minivan. That's the "typical mom" image of a soccer mom right? However, my perception of minivan moms has been skewed. Now, whenever I see a mom in a minivan my first reaction is RUN! "Why?" might you ask.. Well, lately I feel as though I have been bombarded my these prehistoric automobiles. I found a note under my windshield wiper yesterday that said "I think I might have caused some damage to the back of your car. 801-......" (she left her number) After calling her and finding out what happened.. what kind of a car do you think she was driving? Yup! A minivan. Are these cars so ginormous that you are required to have a special license to operate them? Dont get me wrong, I am grateful for the note and the phone number she left! The point is... it was a minivan! Then today, I was waiting for a parking space outside of Nordstrom..patiently waiting for a mom to load up everything into her Suburban. As soon as she pulled out, a minivan literally cut me off and zipped into the much awaited spot. This confirms my theory.. minivans are bad news. When you see them..RUN!

at Last!

Six business days later, these babies finally arrived at my front door step. The day after I order something, I begin to check our front door repeatedly for packages (although I know it takes at least five days to receive it.) I never call the store to track my package or anything like that..I just compulsively check my front door in hopes of seeing my purchase! This past Friday night, at six pm, I happened to look out my front window into our front yard where I saw the FedEx truck. My hands started to sweat and I'm not going to lie...I might have salivated a little bit. A second later, I realized that the only light in the room was the light behind me thus casting an eerie scene to the sweet FedEx man with my face pressed up against the glass, salivating. I quickly jumped behind the curtain concealing my excitement. I peeked out the window from behind the curtain and impatiently awaited for the FedEx guy to place the box on our front door step, crunch away in the snow toward his truck, hop in it, and drive away. A second later, I had the Nordstrom box in my hands ripping away at the package as if I was a five year old searching for a Barbie on Christmas morning. The result..one heck of a tall, amazing pair of Ash boots! Tada!

Christmas

This was my fourth and final attempt at posting a new entry. I told myself if somehow something would come up that wouldnt let me post (an error, currently unavailable, etc.) I would abandon the blog. As much as I hoped for that error message, I got nothing! I'm thinking its fate and I am destined to post about Christmas.

My parents and brother came up here from Las Vegas to spend Christmas Day with Matt and I. We opened gifts, ate, went and saw "Yes Man", built a snow man (that has been terrorized by some elementary school kid and left in a jumble in our front yard), ate a big dinner and then said our goodbyes.
What a ferocious watch dog! Having this guy in the house sure does keep me safe..who needs a security system when you have a 10 pounder! (jk)

Escape to..Maui!

This past week we had the opportunity to vacation in Maui! It was a much needed vacation and we couldn't have asked for more!

Shout out for the Holidays! Being in 80 degree sunny weather caused me to think of the Holidays..never. Whenever we saw a Christmas tree or Christmas ornaments, they clashed with the surroundings because lets face it, Christmas and 80 degrees just dont really mesh well when you live in Provo.
We got the chance to go snorkeling and swim with turtles in front of Tiger Woods' home. These turtles are protected by the state of Hawaii and if you touch them, you are fined 10k. A huge one happened to be directly underneath me and as I attempted to scamble out of the way...yeah..my fin touched it!
The water was freezing (none of the guys agreed) so I had to wear a wet suit and I still felt as though I was swimming in a bucket of ice water. Ouch.
This is Roger. I dont know who taught him this; all I know is that he is a genious. This is Roger waving to you. He would do this everytime you waved at him and the faster you waved, the faster he waved back at you!
We went to a Luau the night before we left. These Polies shook it like no other. They told us their secret of "the shake" but I will never share.
Crazy spinning ball things. I was waiting for someone to get whacked.
A little crispy. Can you tell??
This is THE buff one and what can I say.. I had to snap a little one on one with him!

The Hyatt had the most amazing breakfast ever and every morning, Matt and I endulged. I can never look at breakfast the same after staying here!
The view from the back of the resort. It was a little hard to leave.
Matt kind of looks like he's in pain in this picture and he has every right to look just that. He didn't put on a lot of sun block and his back was flaming red.
Maui Wowie!
So supposedly this sunked boat has been at this location for 3 years and the man who owns it has a 3 million dollar fine for not moving it. I hope someone told him.."Move your boat!!"

The last supper! Our last lunch at BJ's before our red-eye flight home. Great ending to a wonderful vacation!!
