The Walnut Creek Linear Park here in TX!

Going to the park has become somewhat of a lil Sunday tradition. It's just so beautiful and there is just so much to see! Anything from the turtles in the ponds, to the vast amount of green..everywhere, to the crazy bugs (including the tarantula that Matt almost stepped on last Sunday!!) Not too sure about the crazy bug part.. Here are some fun pictures from last Sunday!

Matt and I lovin on each other! We have to get a pic like this everywhere we go!

Volunteering at the Special Olympics

This past Friday we volunteered at the Special Olympics! All of us girls had such a wonderful time! How could you not? We were assigned to the Awards booth and frankly, we couldn't have asked for a better assignment! The awarded athletes were nothing but smiles and laughs. Some threw their arms up in the air as a sign of victory and grinned a grin that spread ear to ear. We high fived them, cheered them on, and helped them around. One of the girls that was volunteering even got kissed on the cheek by one of the athletes! They couldn't have been more excited and we were so fortunate to be there to share their wonderful experience!

It's..Green!!

There is a huge park just a couple of blocks over from where we live. We find ourselves there every Sunday along with many of the other couples that are out here. It's just beautiful! I have never seen so much green...everywhere! There is a pond that has turtles in it and if you look carefully enough, you will see the turtles heads pop out of the water and glide along the surface for a couple of seconds before they disappear out of sight. Toward the back of the park is a little path that curves deep into the woods. This past Sunday, Matt and I decided to go explore. The path hugged the outskirts of the forest but yet was deep enough into the forest that you found yourself surrounded by trees of all sorts. The branches of some curved and spiraled into peculiar shapes before wrapping around the neighboring trees. It was just pretty. So very different. We loved it!

Just a lil Update

Texas has been great! We are just loving it. The weather is a little different from Las Vegas but we are adjusting to the humidity. It's actually kind of nice! Matt is usually out at work from 12pm-10pm and the girls and I kind of do our own thing. It's been so much fun though! I can finally catch up on all of the reading that I have been wanting to get done. I will be starting the Twilight series today and I'm so excited! I've also been able to start up yoga again and I can't get enough of it. I take classes three times a week and crave them on the days that I cant take them. All of us will also be volunteering at a Hospice in Ft. Worth starting next week and I cant wait for that! I have missed the opportunity to volunteer but I finally have time for that! I'm so incredibly proud of my husband and for all of his hard work. He means the world to me and I'm so excited to be with him forever!

Oh the Bugs You will Find in Texas

Two nights ago Matt came home and told me that his legs were itching way bad because of all the mosquitos that have been biting him. When I was trying to get him medicine at the store, I came to find out that in fact they weren't mosquitos but chiggers! Nasty little poops they are because they cause you to itch as bad as if you had poison ivy rubbed all over your legs! I felt so bad because all of last night his legs just kept itching so bad and to make matters worse, Matt woke up this morning at five am because his legs were on fire! I attemped to examine his legs this morning and upon first sight just said "Honey your legs look just fine!"...And then he turned his legs so his calf was exposed and my opinion changed just a little bit. He has red spots all over the back of both legs! So just a side note, if you are traveling to Texas, bring lots and lots of chigger repellant!
